Alberto Aquilani To Leave Liverpool And Stay At Juventus

On-loan Juventus midfielder Alberto Aquilani will not return to Liverpool at the end of the season and will stay at the Serie A club, according to his agent.

The 26-year-old joined the Reds in 2009 from Roma for £17million but had an injury-hit first season. The Italy international returned to Serie A last August and joined Juventus on a season-long loan. But Aquilani’s agent, Franco Zavaglia, has ruled out a return to the Premier League and admits Juventus are favourites to sign the playmaker, despite interest from Roma.

“Aquilani to Roma? That will be difficult,” Zavaglia told Italian broadcaster Radio Mana Mana. “

Juve has the priority and I don’t think they will let him escape. On 30 June, Juventus will be able to buy Aquilani and they should act now. They could sign him by making three to four delayed payments, a system which was established last summer. The agreement between Liverpool and Juventus is already there, it all depends on the willingness of Juventus. I think Aquilani will stay at Juventus and there will not be any obstacles.”
