Real Madrid Boss Jose Mourinho Promises Not To Buy Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba

Former Chelsea manager will raid the Stamford Bridge playing squad.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho says he will not try to entice Chelsea striker Didier Drogba away from Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho insists he would not try to take Drogba away from Chelsea.

“I do not want Drogba, Real Madrid do not need to go for him,” said Mourinho.

“Everyone knows the relationship I have with Drogba.

“But everybody also knows the relationship that I have with [Chelsea owner] owner Roman) Abramovich and Chelsea.

“Therefore if it were true that Chelsea wants to sell him I would be one of the first to know because we have got a very direct, friendly relationship and they have told me nothing.”

“So I think that Didier is going to stay where he has to stay, where he has made history.”

Despite a bout of malaria that severely affected his form, and Fernando Torres finally breaking his duck, Didier Drogba has clearly been the best Chelsea striker this season.

However, if Torres continues to gradually take his place in the team, perhaps he will consider moving on.

Then, perhaps, Mourinho will be waiting.

Arsenal Ready to Make Record Breaking Move for £22.5m Real Madrid Striker Karim Benzema

Emirates boss hopes to lure Bernabeu star to North London.

Arsenal are ready to make a significant bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to improve his side’s striking options. The French international has long been a target of the North London club and the Gunners boss will hope that the lure of regular first team football may tempt the former Lyon striker.

The 23 year old Bernabeu star is very much a back up player and though he initially failed to make the most of his run in the first team, that came as a result of long term injury to Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, a run of good form has led to the Real Madrid man netting 22 goals this season.

However Jose Mourinho has made it abundantly clear that he will be looking to refresh his attacking options with a move to sign another striker which will in turn leave Benzema once again warming the bench and could lead to the powerful forward looking to leave the Spanish giants.

Arsenal have had to rely heavily on Robin Van Persie for firepower over the past couple of seasons and injury concerns plague the Dutch international who has missed more games than he has started during his seven years at the club. New signing Marouane Chamakh started the season brightly but has looked well off the pace since Christmas and back up alternatives Nicklas Bendtner and Carlos Vela are tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.

Whilst Arsene Wenger is known for being something of a spendthrift after six seasons without tangible success or silverware, the Frenchman is ready to make big name moves to help appease the star players he has at the club who are looking for a statement of intent in the form of established star signings this summer.

Real Madrid be looking for at least €25m (£22.5m) for Benzema and whilst that would represent a trasnfer record fee for Arsenal it is still some way below the €41m paid to Lyon for the young striker just under two years ago and a seemingly fair fee for a player of his age and potential.

Real Madrid to Offer £15m for Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba

Bernabeu boss to be reunited with his former Stamford Bridge star.

Real Madrid are preparing to offer £15million for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba in a bid to keep Jose Mourinho as manager.
The Spanish club have been wracked in turmoil behind the scenes this season with Mourinho jostling for more power from president Florentino Perez and general director Jorge Valdano.
The ‘Special One’ has made it clear he is willing to walk away at the end of the season unless he gets his way and Perez is ready to hand him the control he craves.
Drogba has been long coveted by Mourinho and Perez sees the potential signing as a sop to the coach he believes can topple fierce rivals Barcelona from the summit of world football.

Despite his advancing years, Drogba will give Real the cutting edge and power they have sorely missed this season.
They have leaned heavily on Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals return following Gonzalo Higuain’s back injury and Karim Benzema is only just starting to show the potential they invested in. Although Emmanuel Adebayor has been a moderate success, he is more likely to return to Manchester City in the summer.
A £15m fee for the 33-year-old Drogba would suit all parties. The Chelsea idol’s status as number one striker is under threat from Fernando Torres’s arrival and he knows owner Roman Abramovich is determined to lower the age of the club’s squad as he looks to prolong the club’s success.

SOURCE: Daily Mail

This is indeed a deal that could suit all parties and one that does appear to have semblance of truth about it. Chelsea would surely deem £15m a very fair price for a player of 33 years of age and it would helpfully avoid issues of dressing room harmony that would surely ensue if next season saw one of Ancelotti’s main strikers sitting out large chunks of the season the bench.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear he needs another striker and Emmanuel Adebayor doesn’t look the part and although Karim Benzema has shown good form of late, having another effective option to call upon would be very handy, especially when battling on multiple fronts.

The Stamford Bridge side will hope that Fernando Torres will get into gear sooner rather than later and Nicolas Anelka is the current top scorer at the club and may work better alongside the Spaniard than Drogba.

Manchester United Hold Talks With David De Gea But Yet To Agree A £17.5m Fee With Atletico Madrid

Old Trafford club look set to land Vicente Calderón Stadium star.

Manchester United have held talks with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea according to the player’s agent Hector Rincon.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson wants a long-term replacement for retiring Edwin van der Sar and has settled on the 20-year-old.

The Spain U21 international broke into the first-team in 2009 and has been scouted by the Red Devil’s goalkeeping coach Eric Steele.

Ferguson himself watched De Gea play Valencia last September.

Rincon revealed his player does have a release cause but Atletico may be persuaded to sell for cheaper.

He also says Wigan have made an attempt to sign him as well as a host of big European and English clubs.

“Well, we did have talks with Manchester United but, first of all, they always look for an agreement with the club,” Rincon told Sport.co.uk.

“Anyway, most of the biggest European teams have shown interest in David De Gea.”

“What I can tell you is that his release clause now is €20 million (£17.5million), but I have no idea if the club would sell him for less.

“Right now, the player has a contract with Atletico Madrid and if Manchester United or any other team want him they will have to reach an agreement or pay the whole release clause.”

“Well, some time ago, before he became an important player in Atletico, Wigan made an offer, but the club rejected it,” Rincon added.

“Recently, I don’t want to say any names but all the big clubs in England and in Europe have asked about him.”

Arsenal Favourites to Land £10m Rated Real Madrid Youngster

Emirates side linked with move for Sergio Canales

Young midfielder Sergio Canales could be on his way out of Real Madrid at the end of the season as Premier League giants Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all expressed an interest in the 20-year-old, AS reports. The Spain under-21 star revealed on Tuesday that he’s not thinking about a transfer at the moment and that he’s determined to succeed at Madrid, but it remains to be seen whether he will be able to resist the temptation of joining any of the aforementioned clubs. Canales joined Madrid from Racing Santander in the summer of 2010, but the attacking midfielder has so far struggled to secure regular first team action because of stiff competition from players such as Mesut Oezil and Kaka. Arsenal are in the market for a new midfielder because of the ongoing uncertainty about the future of Cesc Fabregas, and manager Arsene Wenger considers Canales to be the perfect replacement in case Fabregas indeed leaves the club.

SOURCE: Goal.com

Some sources appear to believe that if Sergio Canales is forced out of the Bernabeu, as he has stated that he personally wants to stay and fight for this place, then a move to Arsenal would be his preferred choice due to their attitude towards young players. The former Racing Santander was signed by the La Liga giants before Jose Mourinho arrived and the resultant purchases of Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria negated the need for the talented young Spaniard.

This source suggests that Canales could act as a Fabregas replacement but they are very different players, indeed the Real Madrid man functions most effectively out wide and not in the centre where the Arsenal captain plies his trade.

The player’s own dad has suggested that his son’s desire is to stick it out at Real Madrid but the young attacking midfielder may feel that his career is best served in the long term by a move away from the Spanish capital.

Arsenal already have a number of players who play out in the areas that Canales plays with Samir Nasir and Andrei Arshavin the primary wide men at the Emirates but given that the Russian has been linked with a move back to Russia and the fact that the likes of Tomas Rosicky may be on their way out, perhaps this proposed move may well have some semblance in reality.

Real Madrid Target Moves for £50m Man United and Tottenham Pair

La Liga side hope to land Old Trafford and White Hart Lane youngsters.

Real Madrid are said to be lining up moves for Tottenham youngster Sandro and Man United striker Javier Hernandez as Jose Mourinho looks to his Bernabeu board to back him in the summer transfer market. The La Liga giants are looking to put pressure back on Barcelona as they look to bring in further young talents to boost the club’s hopes of wrestling European domination back from their arch rivals Barcelona.

Mourinho is on the look out for fresh attacking options after Real Madrid’s threadbare attack was highlighted by long term injury to Gonzalo Higuain that led to the need to depend on Karim Benzema who has recently kicked into form but the Portuguese boss is keen on Mexican international Javier Hernandez who has been in fine form at Man United and the La Liga side will struggle to persuade Sir Alex Ferguson to consider offers.

The Real Madrid boss will hope to lure Hernandez with a move to Spain and will make a substantial offer for the 22 year old Guadalajara born striker. Chicharito’s form has been such that Ferguson has been forced to drop the Premier League’s top scorer, Dimitar Berbatov, to accommodate the youngster.

Mourinho is also said to be interested in Tottenham midfielder Sandro who has put in some very effective displays this season, especially whilst on Champions League duty. With Real Madrid reportedly open to offers for French international Lassana Diarra, there may be room for the Brazilian international.

Harry Redknapp is in many ways suffering side effects of a terrific season that has led some of his top performers to become very real targets of Europe’s elite. Rafael Van der Vaart, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric are currently the subject of huge interest from club’s who have been impressed by the form they have shown consistently throughout the domestic and European campaigns.

Offers for the pair will run to around £50m and the former Chelsea boss will be looking to president Florentino Perez to back him over the summer as he looks to freshen up a squad that already possesses some of the to young talent in Europe. In order to help finance such deals it is thought that Kaka may be sacrificed as well as squad players such as Fernando Gago and Sergio Canales.

Manchester United Agree £17.5m Deal to Sign Atletico Madrid Keeper David De Gea: Spanish Press Claim La Liga side Have Accepted Offer

Old Trafford club to seal signing of promising Spaniard.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid to sign young keeper David De Gea this summer, according to reports in the Spanish press today. Sir Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to monitor the talented 20 year as the Old Trafford side look to replace Edwin van der Sar who is set to hang up his gloves and retire from the game this summer.

Spanish publication Sport suggests that a deal has been agreed between the two sides that will see the Spanish Under 21 international join Manchester United for a fee of €20m (£17.5m) dependent on the Madrid born goalie agreeing personal terms with the Premier League table toppers.

De Gea has shown maturity beyond his years to become the first choice custodian at the Vicente Calderon and helped his side to clinch the Europa League in his first season at the club last term. Ferguson has been linked to a myriad of potential replacements for Van der Sar with the likes of Manuel Neuer, Hugo Lloris, Maarten Stekelenburg and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina often being mentioned as possible purchases.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly in something of a financial predicament that has led to much speculation that some of their top talents may be offloaded this summer with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan linked with big money exits and the fact that Quique Sánchez Flores’s side are currently languishing in eight place and could miss out on European football altogether next term may force the club to sell to balance the books.

Manchester United brought in Anders Lindegaard as further back up and there has been much speculation that Tomasz Kuszczak will leave in the summer. Sir Alex Ferguson has been looking at bringing in top young talent to help build a new generation of players to mix with those coming through the youth ranks and the purchases of Javier Hernandez and Chris Smalling appear to have paid off and David De Gea is seen by many as an ideal long term replacement for Edwin Van der Sar.

Real Madrid Youngster Turns Down Liverpool Move

Spanish Under 21 international opts against Anfield move.

Real Madrid youngster Sergio Canales has revealed he rejected a loan move to England in January despite being the subject of interest from a number of clubs. Having made just seven appearances in La Liga for his club so far this season, it would have been understandable if the 20 year-old had sought first team football elsewhere – at least on a temporary basis – and there were certainly Premier League clubs willing to give Canales a chance. Liverpool, West Ham and Fulham are believed to be the three interested parties, but the former Racing Santander wonderkid wants to prove to his coach Jose Mourinho he can cut it at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

“During January I had options to move to England, but I want to repay Mourinho and the club’s trust in me,” he told Marca. “I don’t regret moving to Real Madrid and I knew that this first year would be tough. It’s not great when I’m not in the squad but I want to show what I can do on the pitch.”

SOURCE: Sportingo

Since his move from Racing Santander to the Bernabeu talented youngster Sergio Canales has battled manfully to get Jose Mourinho’s attention and it seems that he may well have succeeded. The 20 year old has been used more frequently in recent weeks and months and though he clearly will have to battle through a mountain of talent at the Spanish giants, he seems up for the task.

Clearly the fact that the signing of Sergio Canales was completed before Mourinho arrived at the club would have left the attacking midfielder wondering where he future lay, but the Spanish Under 21 international wants to stick at it.

However perhaps a loan move would have been a useful way to get first team experience but a temporary move that would have taken him abroad would have been unlikely. Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli in particular, were interested in bringing Canales to Anfield as they looked to add more creativity to their attack.

However the recent fine displays from the likes of Luis Suarez, Raul Meireles and indeed Dirk Kuyt, have helped make the Merseyside club a more effective unit going forward. New signing Andy Carroll still needs time to bed in, not least because the England international is also fighting back from injury.

Manchester City Turn Attention To £33m Real Madrid Defender As Dani Alves Signs New Barcelona Deal

Manchester City will turn their sights to Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos after losing out on Barcelona full-back Dani Alves.

Ramos, 24, joined Madrid in 2005 from Sevilla for £23million but contract extension negotiations have stalled amid suggestions of a row with manager Jose Mourinho. Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini likes the Spain World Cup winner because he can play at right-back and centre-half.

Madrid do not want to sell the fan-favourite but if Ramos refuses to sign a new contract the La Liga giants will have little choice. City will attempt to sign the £33million-rated player in the summer as Dani Alves signed a new four-year deal at Barcelona. The 27-year-old was linked with moves to Eastlands and to Chelsea after contract negotiations broke down.

“Barcelona announces that they have reached an agreement with Dani Alves to extend his contractual relationship with the club for three more seasons until June 30, 2015,” read a club statement on their website.
