Real Madrid Boss Jose Mourinho Promises Not To Buy Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba

Former Chelsea manager will raid the Stamford Bridge playing squad.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho says he will not try to entice Chelsea striker Didier Drogba away from Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho insists he would not try to take Drogba away from Chelsea.

“I do not want Drogba, Real Madrid do not need to go for him,” said Mourinho.

“Everyone knows the relationship I have with Drogba.

“But everybody also knows the relationship that I have with [Chelsea owner] owner Roman) Abramovich and Chelsea.

“Therefore if it were true that Chelsea wants to sell him I would be one of the first to know because we have got a very direct, friendly relationship and they have told me nothing.”

“So I think that Didier is going to stay where he has to stay, where he has made history.”

Despite a bout of malaria that severely affected his form, and Fernando Torres finally breaking his duck, Didier Drogba has clearly been the best Chelsea striker this season.

However, if Torres continues to gradually take his place in the team, perhaps he will consider moving on.

Then, perhaps, Mourinho will be waiting.

Tottenham Boss Confirms Didier Drogba Interest

White Hart Lane boss wants Stamford Bridge striker.

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham need to bolster their squad regardless of whether or not they finish fourth, and has not ruled out a swoop for Didier Drogba.

Spurs’ coffers have been boosted considerably since they qualified for the UEFA Champions League at the end of last season, but they are fighting to make it through to the next edition of Europe’s premier club competition.

There have been suggestions that chairman Daniel Levy may not be able to sanction big-money bids if Tottenham do not secure a top-four finish, but the manager maintains that it would be a backward step to have a quiet transfer window.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Drogba, whose future at Chelsea has been the subject of discussion since Fernando Torres’ arrival in January.

Redknapp admits he is an admirer of the Ivory Coast international and does not know whether something might happen in the summer, although he does not want to say too much at this point.

“Drogba is still a fantastic player, who knows,” he said. “It’s up to Chelsea what they do, he’s been a great player for them.

“He’s a fantastic centre-forward. Power, strength, he’s got everything and he scores goals as well.

“He plays for Chelsea and until they decide otherwise, you can’t speculate about his future.” (Sky Sports)

Clearly any manger would be interested in Didier Drogba, after all he was the Premier League’s top scorer last term and has recently raised his game and returned near to that form after replacing faltering Fernando Torres up front.

Carlo Ancelotti may well consider letting the 33 year old Ivory Coast man go as he looks to make long term plans but it seems far more likely that the former Marseille man would either return to France or perhaps move to La Liga where his former boss Jose Mourinho is apparently considering bringing the sharp shooter to Real Madrid.

Redknapp does however need to resolve his failing strike force having seen Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Robbie Keane all fail to inspire.

Real Madrid to Offer £15m for Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba

Bernabeu boss to be reunited with his former Stamford Bridge star.

Real Madrid are preparing to offer £15million for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba in a bid to keep Jose Mourinho as manager.
The Spanish club have been wracked in turmoil behind the scenes this season with Mourinho jostling for more power from president Florentino Perez and general director Jorge Valdano.
The ‘Special One’ has made it clear he is willing to walk away at the end of the season unless he gets his way and Perez is ready to hand him the control he craves.
Drogba has been long coveted by Mourinho and Perez sees the potential signing as a sop to the coach he believes can topple fierce rivals Barcelona from the summit of world football.

Despite his advancing years, Drogba will give Real the cutting edge and power they have sorely missed this season.
They have leaned heavily on Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals return following Gonzalo Higuain’s back injury and Karim Benzema is only just starting to show the potential they invested in. Although Emmanuel Adebayor has been a moderate success, he is more likely to return to Manchester City in the summer.
A £15m fee for the 33-year-old Drogba would suit all parties. The Chelsea idol’s status as number one striker is under threat from Fernando Torres’s arrival and he knows owner Roman Abramovich is determined to lower the age of the club’s squad as he looks to prolong the club’s success.

This is indeed a deal that could suit all parties and one that does appear to have semblance of truth about it. Chelsea would surely deem £15m a very fair price for a player of 33 years of age and it would helpfully avoid issues of dressing room harmony that would surely ensue if next season saw one of Ancelotti’s main strikers sitting out large chunks of the season the bench.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear he needs another striker and Emmanuel Adebayor doesn’t look the part and although Karim Benzema has shown good form of late, having another effective option to call upon would be very handy, especially when battling on multiple fronts.

The Stamford Bridge side will hope that Fernando Torres will get into gear sooner rather than later and Nicolas Anelka is the current top scorer at the club and may work better alongside the Spaniard than Drogba.

Chelsea to Sell Didier Drogba for Just £5m?

How much? Stamford Bridge side to let Ivory Coast star leave on the cheap?

Galatasaray are planning a summer bid to lure Didier Drogba from Chelsea. The Turkish club believe Drogba may be available for a knockdown £5million as Chelsea aim to overhaul their squad. Galatasaray cannot match Drogba’s £120,000-a-week wages but hope a hefty signing-on fee plus large bonuses and a two-year deal will prove tempting.

SOURCE: Express

What? Not quite sure how The Express arrives at the figure of £5m unless this is a valuation of one of Didier Drogba’s toes as opposed to the entire Ivory Coast international striker? It seems plausible that the 33 year old could leave Stamford Bridge if he felt that he may not be a first team regular, however given Fernando Torres’s poor start and the instant impact the Chelsea star made when he came on against Man City last weekend, a move may not be on the cards after all.

There has been much speculation that a move to Turkey or Marseille could occur, some sources even stated the possibility of an MLS switch, however any fee for the prolific marksman would be at least double what is quoted here.

We are after all talking about a player who was the Premier League’s top scorer last term. Carlo Ancelotti opted for a front pairing of Torres and Salomon Kalou for the Man City encounter but that partnership did not exactly blow anyone’s mind and it was veteran’s Drogba and Nicolas Anelka who saved the day and helped breath new life into the West London side.

There has also been speculation that Galatasaray may look to cement a swap deal that would see playmaker Arda Turan go the other direction, that at least is a rumour that has a semblance of believability about it.
