Uruguayan international warming to White Hart Lane move.

Diego Forlan: I’ll consider good offer from Spurs for summer transfer
Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan has said he would be prepared to speak to any interested clubs, including Spurs, if they make a ‘good offer’ for him in the summer. The Uruguayan international was said to have been the subject of a concrete bid from Tottenham in January after manager Harry Redknapp made a special trip to Madrid to see him play.
And 31-year-old Forlan, who is rumoured to be unsettled at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, has said he is willing to speak to other clubs about a move. ‘You never know in football,’ said former Manchester United flop Forlan, when asked if he would consider a move back to the Premier League. If there was a nice offer, for the team and for me, then you have to see. You have to see if it is good enough.’

Given just how much Diego Forlan has achieved since his poor spell at Old Trafford one would imagine that Uruguayan international has no need to prove to anyone what he is capable of but perhaps a big money move back to England to show just how lethal a finisher he really is, may well tempt the 31 year old into a move to White Hart Lane.

Since leaving Man United Forlan has gone on to score an incredible 155 goals in just under seven seasons with first Villarreal and now at the Vicente Calderon and with Atletico currently in something of a financial bind and unlikely to nab a Champions League spot, then the Montevideo born striker may feel that now is the time to move on.

Harry Redknapp has been looking for fresh attacking options for some time, mainly because his current quartet of Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko have under performed this season. A move for Forlan would cost Tottenham around £12million and whilst his age may mean he is not a long term solution to the striking problems at the club he would be a very effective immediate term solution.
